our backstory

Hello, my name is Lora Aboulmouna, owner and founder of Eat Bubbles. Thank you for your interest in our business and your appreciation for the beverages we create.

My love for bubble tea first began when I was introduced to boba tea when I visited my twin sister in New York, over 10 years ago now. She continues to take credit for my love of boba to this day.

Growing up in a small town and moving to Nashville, we don't have a Chinatown easily accessible. Whenever I would visit a bigger city, that was always my first go-to place. If I had a friend who had never experienced boba tea, I'd make them come with me to some of my favorite spots and even film their first reactions. I have a whole archive of first impressions!

My joy for boba tea continued two years later, when I went on a three-month personal growth journey, traveling in Malaysia, Indonesia and Taiwan to experience the authentic culture where boba and milk tea began. I will say, I had 10 different boba teas in under two days, and I do not recommend this as a long term diet plan, but it was definitely unforgettable!

My love for the sea turtle conservation initiative is another continued project of mine. I'm looking to bring boba tea to people using only sustainable and sustainably sourced products in an eco-friendly environment. Our straws are made from bamboo, and we've partnered with Compost Nashville for our local composting needs.
